The Diagonal 191 office complex was designed by GCA Architects with façade advice from Ferrés Arquitectos y consultores. It lies in the 22@ district in Barcelona, a new area that combines new public spaces with efficient, technological, cutting edge, dynamic, designer buildings, making it an area that is increasingly important in the city. The building comprises two blocks of 10 and 17 floors, respectively, connected by a central atrium, and the higher of the two is some 72 metres high.
The glass was supplied by Ariño Duglass, transforming and developing new and exclusive layers for the façade for this project, giving it a unique appearance: "Ariplak AN 40/27" for the vision and "Ariplak Bronze 08" for the moulded passageways.
Diagonal 191 is certain to be an icon of modern Barcelona, a statement supported by receiving the award from the AEO (Spanish Office Association) for the best new built construction in Spain in December 2016. Likewise, in 2016, the building received the Leed Gold certificate for a building constructed per the highest quality and efficiency standards, with a reduction of some 30% in energy consumption compared to a conventional building.
